Border Patrol Agent Paulo Morales Pleads Guilty to Groping Three Women

Paulo Morales has plead guilty to civil rights charges resulting from groping three women from Guatemala, Honduras and Israel.  Sentencing is set for Oct. 26, 2012.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Officer Paulo Morales, 47, of Miami, pleaded guilty today in U.S. District Court in Miami to three civil rights offenses for sexually groping three women in his custody, the Justice Department announced today.

During the plea proceedings, Morales admitted that on various dates in January 2011, while working as an officer with CBP at the Miami International Airport, he groped the breasts of three separate women without their consent and while they were in the custody of CBP.

Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 26, 2012.  Morales faces a maximum sentence of three years in prison and a fine of up to $300,000.

Paulo Morales, 47, pleaded guilty to groping the breasts of three women pulled aside at the Miami International Airport in January of 2011.  The indictment accused the CBP officer of intending to ‘…abuse, humiliate, and degrade [the victim] and to arouse and gratify the defendant’s sexual desire.’  …  The women were from Guatemala, Honduras and Israel.

    correction: Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection employees in blue uniforms work “AT” the Ports of Entry; seaport, airport and land border ports. Border Patrol Agents in green uniforms work “BETWEEN” the ports of entry.
