If these thugs and bullies are that afraid of rocks, they should stay on the American side out of throwing range. Mowing people down because they’re throwing rock is not a reasonable response.

Meanwhile, in Nuevo Laredo a woman has come forward, claiming her husband was killed by border patrol gunfire. Nora Isabel Lam Gallegos said she and her husband were out by the riverbanks at a popular spot frequented by locals. It was there that she said her husband Guillermo Arevalo Pedroza, 36, was allegedly shot by gunfire.

Border Patrol reports say the agents on the airboat saw a person swimming toward the U.S. side, the agents attempted to discourage the swimmer, trying to get him to return to Mexico. However a group of men standing on the Patinadero began throwing rocks at the agents. That is when the agents discharged their weapon. It is not know how many shots were fired. Arevalo’s wife Nora told Nuevo Laredo authorities that when the shooting stop she found her husband lying on the ground shot. She called for emergency assistance that never came and she opted to drive her husband to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

However, a statement released by the Border Patrol on Tuesday said an agent fired a weapon while a marine unit was “subjected to rocks being thrown at them from the Mexican side of the Rio Grande.”

Mexico’s Foreign Relations Department … says in a Wednesday statement that the Mexican government has strongly protested the shooting, and reiterated its objection to the use of force by Border Patrol agents. The statement doesn’t given any details of the shooting. A Border Patrol spokesman hasn’t responded to a request for comment.
