Jose Jalomos has been with the Border Patrol for 20 years, hired before 9/11 when hiring standards presumably meant something.

A local border patrol agent has been charged with two counts of indecency with a child. Jose Jalomos, 49, turned himself in to Duval County Sheriff’s Department Investigators Thursday morning. Duval County Sheriff’s Investigator Alan Gonzalez said the investigation is still ongoing, and he believes, further charges will be forthcoming in the case. “At the same time, there is an ongoing investigation in the jurisdiction of the Alice Police Department for the same type of crime involving a family member and Jalomos,” Gonzalez said.

Jose Neri Jalomos, 49, surrendered after a warrant was issued for his arrest on two counts of indecency with a child … Investigator Sgt. Alan Gonzalez said more charges are expected from the Police Department in Alice, where Jalomos lives and where more abuse is believed to have occurred. Sheriff’s deputies believe Jalomos engaged in inappropriate contact with the relative during several months beginning at the end of spring at locations in Duval and Jim Wells counties.

Investigators in Duval County say a veteran Border Patrol agent surrendered this morning as he faces charges of indecency with a child. The surrender of 49-year-old Jose Jalomos came a short time after a warrant was issued for his arrest. The allegations of inappropriate contact with a 14-year-old female relative were first reported to authorities on Tuesday. Investigator Alan Gonzalez says the alleged incidents occurred within the past six months.
